# Precision Dojo: aim training with ninja movement

[Precision Dojo](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-precision-dojo) gives you fourteen offline forms for reading the game’s movement, from lateral tracking to airborne fights with your own weapon settings.

Aiming at a ninja means reading where the movement is going. An [air step](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-air-step) changes a landing, a [chi-jump](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-chi-jump) gains height quickly, and a [shadow warp](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-shadow-warp) makes you find the target again. [Precision Dojo](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-precision-dojo) gives you a way to practise those situations separately before combining them.

The training uses the game's animated ninjas, movement controller and weapons. It runs offline inside the client, without a server or online service.

## Choosing what to practise

The **fourteen forms** cover lateral tracking, short reversals, leaps, [air steps](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-air-step), intercepting [chi-jumps](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-chi-jump), finding a target after a [shadow warp](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-shadow-warp) and switching between targets. Foundations lets you simplify the situation: plant your feet to concentrate on aiming, or leave your own movement enabled.

[Aerial Mastery](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-precision-dojo) puts both you and the other ninjas in the air. Its forms include head-on flybys, high and low target switches, circling opponents and airborne shadow pursuit. Tempest mixes the aerial patterns. Up to **eight ninjas** can take part, with optional return fire and automatic chi relaunches.

An automatic relaunch starts a launch; it does not steer the camera or aim for you. You can still steer, [air-step](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-air-step), fire, use shadow or take over with your own inputs.

## Practising with the settings you use in a match

Choose rail, bow or stars. The Dojo uses your saved sensitivity, weapon [field of view](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-field-of-view), crosshair and key bindings. [Bow draw](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-bow-draw) and release, [projectile](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-projectile) gravity, [star magazines](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-ninja-stars) and reloads follow the actual game rules. Adjusting the practice cadence changes the pattern you face, without changing [hitboxes](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-hitbox) or weapon speed.

Sessions can be timed or left open for free practice. Keeping the same setup and [seed](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-seed)—the value used to generate the pattern—lets you repeat the same uninterrupted movement sequence. You can then change one condition when you want to practise a different read.

## Reading the results

The results count shots accepted by the game, [hit percentage](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-hit-percentage), eliminations, kills per minute and consecutive hit streaks. Aerial forms also record airborne aiming, air-to-air kills, time spent airborne and deaths. Personal bests are kept separate when practice conditions differ, so unlike setups are not treated as the same test.

These figures describe a practice session rather than a universal skill rating. In particular, **[mean time alive](https://shadowfrag.com/glossary/#term-mean)** is the average lifetime of practice ninjas that were eliminated. It is not a measurement of your reaction time.
